Different Types of Cashless Payment Card Options

When it comes to payment methods, there are so many options to choose from. People can pay in cash, credit or debit cards, ATM cards, gift cards, and a lot more. All of these card payments are considered as different modes of payment. Any of these payments can be accepted in your business as long as you have a card payment machine.

Credit Card Payments

By using a credit card, the customer would be able to make purchase transactions using borrowed money. Hence, the name ‘credit.’ The more the person spends using a credit card, the better it is for your business. More and more people these days prefer this type of payment because it lets them spend no matter how much they want, as long as it is within their credit limit, even if they do not have any cash on hand.

Charge Cards

These charge cards offer usually large and unlimited credit limits to different cardholders. What makes it different from the credit card is that all the charges that a customer has made using a charge card should be paid in full. Many people use charge cards because this can help build their credit history. If they have a strong credit score, they are eligible for a charge card.

Debit Card Payments

Usually, a customers’ debit card and their bank account are connected. This means that when the customer uses their debit card, the charge will be automatically deducted from the funds on their bank accounts. Debit cards usually have a credit network, like Mastercard or Visa. Customers can also use debit cards to withdraw cash from an ATM, but usually, they prefer cashless payments.

Prepaid Cards

These cards are usually bought at department stores. When customers purchase using their prepaid cards, they have already loaded money into it. Once all the funds on that prepaid card are used up, they need to reload it once again for them to continue using their card. This method is preferred by those who do not want to overspend but still opt for cashless payments.

How To Take Card Payments?

If you have a business with a huge volume of transactions day-in-day-out, a point of sale system is highly recommended. This way, you can take card payments easily. Before you do the change with your payment methods, always remember that not all of the POS system is created equal. Before you switch into this new processing solution, do thorough research. Make sure that you have a better understanding of the process and how this can benefit you and your business.
